HTML Select list of all countries grouped by region

I needed an HTML select list of countries grouped by region, eg:
… and was surprised I couldn’t find one out there on the internet. So, with a *sigh* I rolled up my sleeves and created one. You can check it out it after the break. Merry Christmas :)
